Channels

Corrections & Updates

Writing about television services, home products and prices means accepting that some details will age. Channels move between packages, apps change their menus, and a renovation trend can fade within a season. We would rather fix things openly than leave readers with stale information.

Spotted something wrong?

Send a note through the contact page with:

  1. the address of the article,
  2. the sentence or passage you think is incorrect,
  3. and, if you can, where you found the more accurate information.

You do not need to be certain. A polite "this looks odd" is enough for us to take a closer look.

How we check a report

We compare the claim against the original source material, the service's own published information or other reliable references. If the report is right, we change the article. If it is a matter of opinion rather than fact, we may still clarify the wording so the distinction is obvious.

Kinds of change we make

Corrections
A factual error is fixed. Where the mistake could have influenced a reader's decision, we add a short note to the article explaining what changed.
Updates
Information that was accurate when published but has since moved on, such as a service feature or a typical approach to a home project, is brought up to date.
Clarifications
A passage that was technically correct but easy to misread is rewritten so it says what we meant.
Tidying
Typos, broken internal links and formatting slips are repaired quietly, without a note.

What we will not change

We will not rewrite an article to favour a company, remove fair criticism on request from a provider, or alter the meaning of a piece in exchange for anything. Requests of that kind are declined.
